Orphaned Lambs - May 2002

We had two problems within a few days. One of our Manx sheep gave birth to a lovely lamb, which she fed and looked after very well. Unfortunately it turned out that the sheep had a kind of pneumonia which was aggravated by giving birth - so she died a three days later. We therefore had an orphaned lamb called Oonagh. A few days later another Manx who had twins decide that she only wanted one now - so the other one, a ram lamb, was effectively orphaned also.

So the good news is that both lambs are doing well - as you can see.
