Poultry

The first birds we had we inherited from John Burden - basically he could not catch them. These were a guinea fowl and an old cockerel or rooster - we called big bird and Guinea Guinea. They lasted for a couple of years living in an old barn before the fox got them

After several years we now have a fox / badger proof chicken compound and two lawn arks for our nice collection of poultry. The main group are Derbyshire Redcaps - see link. The rest are bantams, a guinea fowl, and a couple of peacocks - with some peacock chicks guinea fowl, and peacocks. We often have chickens to sell.
