The next farm down the valley from us is called Coombe farm and was owned by Robert Ellis until his death in 2004. When it was sold, the new owners kindly let us buy approx 55 acres which abut Fowlescombe. The main stream through our valley joins a stream that runs along the original boundary between Coombe and Fowlescombe, with steep land with bluebell woods leading down to it on both sides. The rest of the new land is also very hilly and will be ideal for our Devon Ruby Red and Angus cattle, once we have proper access to it - needing a better gateway and a bridge across the stream.
