Nearly everyone coming to visit us will travel south on the M5 for the latter part of the journey. Just after Exeter the M5 comes to and end and becomes the A38 going west. About 16 miles short of Plymouth you will see signs for three places - Rattery, South Brent and Ivybridge. Turn off the A38 on to the A3121 at Wrangaton Cross, signposted to lots of places including Ermington, Loddiswell and Modbury. At the top of the slip road, turn left towards Loddiswell. Proceed for about 1 1/4 miles. At the next proper cross roads (i.e. where you have to stop) called Kitterford Cross, go straight over towards Loddiswell. After 3/4 mile, the first house you come to on the right is Fowlescombe Lodge, at a small crossroads called Fowlescombe Gate. You have arrived at the property.Turn right through the large stone gate posts. If closed, the gates open automatically when you get close to them, if you arrive during the day. Otherwise ring the bell marked 'Farm' on the keypad to the right of the gate and ask to be let in. Drive past the Lodge and 400 metres down the track to the farm. Turn right at the gate posts with two small stone balls on them and park up near the house. The large stone buildings just before you get to the house comprise the Function Room, Barn Owl Cottage and Swallow Cottage. Click

for the last 400 metres Leave Plymouth on the A38 and drive past the town of Ivybridge. Turn off at the South Brent exit. Now the trick is to get back onto the A38 going in the opposite direction, back towards Plymouth. You do this by going down the slip road towards South Brent, keeping in the right hand lane. At the bottom, turn right and proceed back onto the A38. You immediately come off again after about 400 yards / meters on to the A3121 at Wrangaton Cross, signposted to lots of places including Ermington, Loddiswell and Modbury. At the top of the slip road, turn left towards Loddiswell.
