Barn Owl Cottage is one of two lovely cottages on the Fowlescombe Estate in a hidden valley located near Ugborough in the beautiful South Hams

Barn Owl Cottage was designed by Robert Barker a founding architect of BACA London and built by Hayman Homes of Ivybridge. This modern barn conversion, now two cottages and the Function Room, won the South West Master Builders award.

The cottage may be used for long or short term rental, for farm workers, house staff e.g. nanny, by family members or as holiday cottages. The photographs above were from when it was used as a very successful five-star holiday let.

This delightful cottage has a very well equipped fitted kitchen, an L shaped lounge-diner, family bathroom with shower over bath, luggage room and additional WC downstairs. Bedroom 1 is a large double bedroom with fitted cupboards, enjoying views down the valley and into the courtyard. Bedroom 2 is a large double bedroom with wash basin and fitted cupboards, it has views over the courtyard and the farm yard. Bedroom 3 was designed for full-sized bunk beds and enjoys a view down the valley. The cottage has central heating powered by a large gas supply under the lawn, a gas hob, electricity, telephone via the main house switch board and an efficient wood burner. The cottage is fitted out to receive Free Sat.
