The hall lends itself to interactive training events. It may be arranged in classroom or other styles to suite, and can easily be switched to provide facilities for small working groups. See example below. The Barn Owl Trust have used the Fowlescombe Function Room on many occasions since 2006. The Training of ecologists and enthusiasts across the UK is given by David Ramsden and colleagues. Each session has had about 25 to 30 people using slide projection and display tables and boards. Internet access has been provided when required. The site has provided a welcome drink, morning break, lunch and afternoon break. When the weather has been good, visitors have taken their lunch outside. Lunch has always been home made in the kitchen below, featuring either beef or lamb from the farm. Vegetarian meals selections have also been provided - with sufficient for non-veggies to try some also. 'Seconds' are always popular with this 'outdoor' group, who always seem to have hollow legs. No one went away hungry though. Fowlescombe really is the perfect venue. A beautiful, warm and versatile building set in an idyllic landscape. The hospitality and food is second to none. Highly recommended! David Ramsden |
